Our second collaboration with Pet Inn Here was for a pop-up at Jing’an Kerry Centre in central Shanghai.
The Pet Inn Here brand is built around the idea that it goes beyond more than just a shop by hosting events that focus on animal welfare, education and community. Our design for the pop-up shop integrates the flexibility necessary to host these events through versatile layouts, movable furniture and product displays that double as seating.
With little natural light in this area of the mall we used a lighter palette of calm and homely natural colours that are also more readily associated with pets. Bold yellow accents are added for eye-catching moments that help to engage and capture the interest of passers-by.
The boundary of the store is defined by an assemblage of perimeter modules that together present an identifiable form whilst also being as transparent as possible. The modularity of the design simplifies manufacturing and creates the opportunity for the pop-up to be moved and reused in various scenarios.
